Rev Don Lewis is a Pagan fashion Icon as one of the best dressed men on a daily basis in the community. Yet, what most don’t know, but his closet friends share in, is that he is a supremely talented thrift store dresser.

"I will always remember my first trip to a thrift store. It was the early 1990s, and I was recovering from a serious back injury -and in straightened circumstances as a result. Ed the Pagan took my to his favorite thrift store, Village Discunt Outlet in Chicago. It was a revelation. I had no idea at that time that such places existed, or that you could get such good things at such good prices. As a larger man in those days I was pretty much confined to buying from specialty shops, with limited selection and high prices. But at the thrift store I was able to find good clothes in my size and in a range of styles for a fraction of the price of the specialty big men's shops I was accostumed to. For what I was normally paying for a shirt, I was able to get several pieces, and this allowed me to rebuild my wardrobe. I was especially excited to learn that through thrift stores I could often find the vintage and eccentric styles that I love but had not otherwise been easily available to me. This is because what you find at a thrift store comes from a wide range or origins and reflects diverse taste, not just the common denominator that. for example, a big men's shop thinks it will be likely to sell. Today almost my entire wardrobe is made of thrift and gifts, and I could not be happier with it. Except Shoes, I can occasionally find shoes, but generally I need to get them new.

I use clothes to express my personal style and sometimes mood, but I also use them magically in terms of the energies of color and pattern, and I will bring all of these considerations to the fashion curations. Its important to dress well, because you are judged on appearance. It’s natural -we even see it in nature where many animals use visual display as part of their communications. Humans are not different in this and use our clothing to express and communicate in many ways. The skill of thrifting allows me to have a wide range to express myself, and also be seen by even mainstream society as a well dressed man."
