Open Letter to the Global Pagan Community
From Ed “the Pagan” Hubbard, Futurist & Pagan Media Pioneer
Subject: The Pagan World Congress Platform

To My Fellow Pagans,

This letter marks a renewed commitment to the community I have served for decades. I have been honored to be asked—and officially retained—by Rev. Mary Hawk and M. Rev. Donald Lewis, Co-Chairs of the Pagan World Congress Committee, to build and manage the digital communications platform for the upcoming Pagan World Congress, scheduled for October 9–13, 2025.

This event will span over 100 continuous hours and reach across every continent and time zone. And the platform we are building will be unlike anything the Pagan world has seen before. Let me be clear: we are designing the most sophisticated, immersive, and connective experience in our movement’s digital history.

A Brief ReintroductionFor those newer to the community or who haven’t heard from me in some time, allow me to reintroduce myself. I’m Ed Hubbard, known publicly as Ed the Pagan—a name given to me decades ago by WLS radio personalities Roe Conn and Garry Meier during one of my frequent call-ins. It stuck.

Since the 1980s, I’ve been deeply engaged in Pagan activism, media, and education. My teams and I have helped pioneer Pagan communications across every major tech wave:

  • Terrestrial and Internet Radio
  • Early IRC networks and streaming services
  • Pagans Tonight Radio Network
  • Magick TV
  • Witch School – the world’s first large-scale online Pagan educational system

During the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, we helped several festivals survive and evolve by moving them online—many of which are still thriving today.

What We’re BuildingFor the Pagan World Congress, we’re going even further. We’re building a next-level interactive platform that blends broadcast capability, community engagement, and spiritual presence. Here’s a glimpse of what’s coming:
  • Large-scale virtual plenary halls for keynote sessions and ceremonies
  • Workshop rooms, classroom spaces, and small group forums
  • Dynamic discussion lounges and Pagan-styled digital “lobbies”
  • Simultaneous translation into major and minor languages
  • Live transcription and automatic documentation of sessions for global accessibility
  • Streaming on hundreds of channels across platforms
  • Archival access for sessions you missed or want to revisit

We’re designing this to be live, immersive, multilingual, and accessible, with participation options for observers, registered attendees, and interactive voting members.

Those who register with a modest fee will unlock tools and access that go beyond expectation—this isn’t just about watching a stream, it’s about being part of a living, breathing, and responsive global Pagan event.

A Thank You and a Call to CollaborateTo the Pagan World Congress Committee: thank you for the trust and the challenge. It is my intention to deliver a platform that both honors the sacredness of this gathering and leads our community boldly into the future.
To the broader community: If you want to help build this platform—whether in tech, translation, media, accessibility, or coordination—please reach out to me directly.

For all other inquiries about the Pagan World Congress itself, please contact Rev. Mary Hawk and Rev. Don Lewis, our capable and visionary co-chairs.

In magic, in service, and with fire in the spirit,

Sincerely,
Ed “the Pagan” Hubbard
