CALL FOR A PAGAN WORLD CONGRESS
Hello! This is Rev Don Lewis, coming to you from the beautiful Metaverse, and I want to talk to you about the Pagan World Congress. Reverend Mary Hawk and I are using the Pagan World platform to call the Pagan World Congress, and we hope you will join us for this important event.
What is the Pagan World Congress and why should you take part in it? We live at an epochal moment in time. Drastic changes in domestic and international political situations, the rise of Artificial Intelligence and other challenging technological advancements, the growing prominence of Christian Nationalism in various parts of the world, and of course climate change, are all issues causing concern for many in the Pagan community. The Pagan World Congress is bringing together many of the greatest minds of our international community. We discuss these and other issues of concern and share ideas of what we can do as individuals and as a community.
However, while exposing participants to the ideas of well known leaders and authors is part of the purpose of the Congress, it is not all. Our greater goal is for everyone participating to be able to interact with each other and share their opinions. All over the community Big Name Pagans are already telling people what they think people should do. We want to hear what YOU have to say. We want everyone to share their ideas. Anyone can apply to make a presentation. All participants can meet in the chat rooms to share their views and form their own ideas.
We are not here to try to “unite” everyone or try to tell anyone what they “must” do. We want to share ideas and help people to find their own way. No decisions will be made at this Congress except the individual decisions of people and groups about what they think will help them move forward.
In putting the Pagan World Congress together we have looked to the Parliament of the World’s Religions for inspiration. The Parliament of the World’s Religions isn’t about people from many religions coming together to get marching orders, but rather people from many religions coming together to share ideas and expand their personal understanding and course of interfaith action.
